The Canadian Quran Academy’s Hifz Quran in Surrey program offers structured memorization training for students who want reliable methods, not shortcuts. Memorizing the Quran requires patience, repetition, and technique—not motivation alone. This course teaches retention strategies, revision cycles, and verse-level accuracy through one-on-one instruction tailored to each student’s pace and capacity.
Surrey’s Muslim community continues to grow, and families here value authentic Hifz instruction that respects both tradition and modern scheduling needs. The Canadian Quran Academy connects local students with qualified Hifz tutors who understand the demands of Canadian life—school, work, family—and build memorization plans around them, not against them.

The Canadian Quran Academy’s Hifz Quran in Surrey course is a one-on-one memorization program where students learn new verses, review previously memorized portions, and strengthen long-term retention through structured revision schedules. Lessons cover verse breakdown, repetition techniques, linking strategies, and error correction. Students memorize at their own pace—some complete a page weekly, others monthly.
Tutors assign daily portions based on each student’s memory capacity, not arbitrary targets. Lessons include new memorization (Sabaq), recent review (Sabaq Para), and older review (Manzil). Students also work on pronunciation accuracy, Tajweed application during recitation, and connecting verses thematically to deepen understanding and recall under The Canadian Quran Academy’s systematic Hifz framework.
The Canadian Quran Academy’s Hifz Quran in Surrey curriculum follows a three-tier revision system that prevents forgetting and builds durable recall over months and years.
Students learn small portions—three to seven verses per session—using repetition, visualization, and audio reinforcement. Tutors break verses into natural pause points, connect meanings, and guide students through multiple recitation cycles until the verse flows without hesitation. Memorization happens line by line, not page by page.
Every lesson includes review of the last seven days of memorization (Sabaq Para). Students recite these portions without prompts, and tutors correct errors immediately. This short-term review prevents gaps from forming. Revision is structured, timed, and non-negotiable—students who skip it lose progress faster than they gain it.
Once a Juz is complete, it enters long-term rotation (Manzil). Students recite older portions weekly, cycling through the entire memorized Quran every few months. The Canadian Quran Academy’s tutors track each student’s retention rate, adjust revision loads, and identify weak sections before they decay. Memory work is maintenance, not a one-time achievement.
Memorization without Tajweed leads to incorrect retention. Students apply Ghunnah rules, Idgham points, Qalqalah sounds, and Madd lengths while memorizing—not after. Tutors correct pronunciation errors during memorization sessions, ensuring that what students memorize is Tajweed-compliant from the first repetition. Accurate recitation becomes automatic through repetition.
Outcomes
Students memorize verses with retention that lasts years, not weeks. They learn to repeat new portions until automatic, review recent memorization daily, and cycle through older Juz monthly. This three-level system prevents forgetting and builds recall that survives gaps in practice.
Students recite memorized verses with correct Makharij, proper Ghunnah, and accurate Madd application. They don't memorize incorrectly and fix it later—they memorize correctly from the first repetition. Tajweed rules are applied during memorization, not bolted on afterward.
Students learn to manage their own revision schedules, track weak sections, and allocate daily recitation time without constant supervision. They understand which portions need more repetition, when to move forward, and how to balance new memorization with review.
Students recite memorized portions in front of tutors, family, and community members without hesitation. They correct their own mistakes mid-recitation, restart verses when needed, and handle public recitation pressure. Confidence comes from practice, not encouragement.
Students understand what they're memorizing—not every word, but enough context to anchor verses thematically. Tutors explain key terms, clarify verse transitions, and link similar passages. Meaning strengthens memory. Memorization without understanding leads to mechanical recitation.
Students identify their own pronunciation mistakes, recognize Tajweed violations, and self-correct during revision. Tutors teach students to hear their errors, not just make them. Independent error detection builds long-term accuracy.

Testimonials
Students at The Canadian Quran Academy achieve Quran memorization milestones, strengthen Tajweed proficiency, and build lifelong revision habits across Canada and beyond.
Alhumdulilah my son 7yr old loves his Quran classes. Sheikh Nour Eddin Mohmoud is very interactive and makes it very interesting for my son. MashaAllah my son has progressed in his Tajweed learning, applying and memorizing. After so many teachers finally found Sheikh Nour who understands and communicate with parents and listens as to what exactly one is looking for their child. I really recommend this institute and sheikh Nour . InshaAllah I want my other son to start with Sheikh Nour as well. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get their kids to learn online.
Alhamdulillah this is a great place to learn Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. I took these three classes and gained a lot. They teach through zoom in one on one sessions where you decide the time and day. I used whatsapp as the communication and the coordinators were really responsive. For Quran, we would read the arabic together and then learn the tafsir. After that I would memorize the surah or a portion for the next class. For Arabic, it was a focus on vocabulary and conjugations of verbs. For Islamic studies you went through a text together. The teachers are really nice and you can ask anything. I found it enjoyable learning about a different culture as I was raised in America. Give it a try!
Real transformations from students who mastered the Quran with our courses
I took a course at Shaykhi Academy, and my name is Hamza Osama from England. During my time there, I learned the Arabic alphabet and Tajweed rules. I have also successfully memorized approximately two Juz of the Quran. My teacher was the best, and I feel I benefited a lot from him. I would advise anyone who wants to learn the Arabic language, Tajweed rules, or the Quran to join Shaykhi Academy.
I’m Yahia Sarhan, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Canada. I’ve been a student at Shaykhi Academy since 2019, so about three or four years now. It’s been a great learning opportunity for me and I’ve learned a lot about Islamic studies, the Quran, and Arabic reading. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s trying to learn.
