The Canadian Quran Academy offers Quran classes in Montreal designed for learners who want proper Quranic recitation, Tajweed application, and Arabic fluency. Students work through Noorani Qaida foundations, Makharij drills, and verse-by-verse recitation practice. Lessons address the specific pronunciation challenges English speakers face when learning Quranic Arabic sounds.
Montreal’s multilingual environment prepares learners for this type of study. Students already navigate French and English daily, so adding Quranic Arabic phonetics becomes a natural extension of their linguistic skill set. The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran classes in Montreal meet learners where they are, whether balancing work schedules, family commitments, or academic responsibilities.

The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran classes in Montreal begin with Arabic letter recognition and progress systematically through Tajweed rules, connected speech patterns, and full Surah recitation. Lessons cover Makharij positions, vowel Madd rules, Noon Sakinah applications, and Qalqalah execution. Students practice each sound before layering rules, preventing the confusion that happens when theory arrives before muscle memory.
Montreal learners often ask about pacing, especially adults returning after years away from Quranic study. The Canadian Quran Academy’s tutors slow down the moments where English speakers predictably struggle: the ع versus غ distinction, the three varieties of Haa, and the difference between short and long vowels in recitation context.
The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran classes in Montreal follow a progression model. Students don’t jump into Surah recitation on day one, they build the Arabic reading foundation first.
English speakers often confuse ص with س or skip over ض entirely. Lessons isolate these sounds, drill them individually, then embed them into short vowel combinations. Students repeat ḍād, ṭāʾ, and ẓāʾ until the tongue position becomes automatic, not something they think about while reading Quranic text.
Students don’t memorize Ghunnah or Idgham definitions upfront. The Canadian Quran Academy’s tutors let learners encounter the sounds naturally first, pronouncing نْ before م, noticing where the nose vibrates, then name the rule afterward. This prevents the robotic recitation that happens when students recite rules instead of understanding the acoustic reality behind them.
Most beginners pause after every word, treating Quranic verses like isolated vocabulary lists. Lessons train students to link words smoothly, applying Sukoon rules, managing Hamzatul-Wasl, and maintaining vowel flow across phrase boundaries. Montreal students practice short Ayahs until the rhythm feels natural, not forced.
Once students control letter sounds and connected speech, they recite complete Surahs under instructor supervision. The Canadian Quran Academy’s tutors correct Makharij errors in real time, address pacing issues, and reinforce proper breath control. Students don’t move to the next Surah until current recitation meets Tajweed standards consistently.
Outcomes
Students learn to position their tongue, lips, and throat correctly for each Arabic letter. ح comes from the middle throat, ق from the back, and خ from the soft palate. Most English speakers swap these sounds initially because English has no equivalent distinctions. Lessons drill these positions until pronunciation becomes reflexive.
Students don't just define Qalqalah or Madd—they execute these rules while reciting. Lessons move from isolated drills to full verse application, where students manage multiple Tajweed principles simultaneously. The Canadian Quran Academy's tutors catch errors immediately, so bad habits don't solidify before correction happens.
Beginners often depend on Latin-script crutches, reading "Bismillah" instead of recognizing بسم الله. Lessons phase out transliteration early, forcing students to process Arabic script directly. This builds reading speed and prevents the common issue where students memorize sounds without actually reading the letters.
Many students rush through verses or run out of breath mid-Ayah. The Canadian Quran Academy's Quran classes in Montreal teach natural pause points, breath management between phrases, and how to maintain consistent pacing without sacrificing Tajweed accuracy. Students practice longer Surahs until stamina matches their technical ability.
ض versus ظ, ت versus ط, س versus ص, these pairs trip up English speakers for months. Lessons isolate each pair, drill them in minimal pairs, then embed them into Quranic verses. Students hear the difference before they produce it, then practice until the distinction becomes automatic.
Memorization built on incorrect pronunciation creates permanent issues. The Canadian Quran Academy's Quran classes in Montreal establish proper recitation first, then layer memorization on top. Students repeat verses with correct Tajweed until muscle memory and auditory memory align, making retention faster and recall more reliable.
Why Choose us?
The Canadian Quran Academy's tutors hold Ijazah certifications and years of teaching experience. They've corrected thousands of Makharij errors, managed pacing issues, and retrained students who spent years reciting incorrectly. Lessons follow proven methods, not improvised approaches.
Classes run mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Students book sessions around their existing schedules—whether managing shift work, university classes, or childcare responsibilities. The Canadian Quran Academy's Quran classes in Montreal adapt to student availability, not the reverse.
Group classes miss individual errors. Private lessons catch every mispronounced letter, every rushed Madd, every skipped Ghunnah. The Canadian Quran Academy's tutors correct mistakes the moment they happen, preventing bad habits from becoming permanent fixtures.
Students receive regular assessments noting which Tajweed rules they've mastered and which still need work. No vague feedback—specific observations on Makharij accuracy, pacing consistency, and rule application. Learners know precisely what to practice between sessions.
The Canadian Quran Academy structures tuition to fit household budgets. Families don't choose between quality Quranic education and financial stability. Pricing reflects the reality that consistent learning requires sustainable costs, not prohibitive barriers.
Some tutors grew up reciting Quran in Arabic-speaking households. Others learned as adults in Canadian contexts and understand the specific challenges English speakers face. The Canadian Quran Academy combines both perspectives, giving Montreal students instructors who match their learning background.
Students test the instruction style, ask questions, and assess whether the pacing matches their needs. The Canadian Quran Academy's Quran classes in Montreal don't require upfront commitments, learners decide after experiencing the actual teaching approach.
Beginners don't waste time reviewing basics unnecessarily. Advanced learners don't sit through elementary drills. The Canadian Quran Academy's Montreal instructors assess current Quran reading ability first, then place students in lessons matching their precise skill stage.

Testimonials
Canadian graduates of the Canadian Quran Academy have improved Quranic recitation, advanced Arabic fluency, and deepened Islamic knowledge—achieving academic, professional, and personal growth.
Alhumdulilah my son 7yr old loves his Quran classes. Sheikh Nour Eddin Mohmoud is very interactive and makes it very interesting for my son. MashaAllah my son has progressed in his Tajweed learning, applying and memorizing. After so many teachers finally found Sheikh Nour who understands and communicate with parents and listens as to what exactly one is looking for their child. I really recommend this institute and sheikh Nour . InshaAllah I want my other son to start with Sheikh Nour as well. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get their kids to learn online.
Alhamdulillah this is a great place to learn Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. I took these three classes and gained a lot. They teach through zoom in one on one sessions where you decide the time and day. I used whatsapp as the communication and the coordinators were really responsive. For Quran, we would read the arabic together and then learn the tafsir. After that I would memorize the surah or a portion for the next class. For Arabic, it was a focus on vocabulary and conjugations of verbs. For Islamic studies you went through a text together. The teachers are really nice and you can ask anything. I found it enjoyable learning about a different culture as I was raised in America. Give it a try!
Real transformations from students who mastered the Quran with our courses
I took a course at Shaykhi Academy, and my name is Hamza Osama from England. During my time there, I learned the Arabic alphabet and Tajweed rules. I have also successfully memorized approximately two Juz of the Quran. My teacher was the best, and I feel I benefited a lot from him. I would advise anyone who wants to learn the Arabic language, Tajweed rules, or the Quran to join Shaykhi Academy.
I’m Yahia Sarhan, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Canada. I’ve been a student at Shaykhi Academy since 2019, so about three or four years now. It’s been a great learning opportunity for me and I’ve learned a lot about Islamic studies, the Quran, and Arabic reading. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s trying to learn.
