Calgary students learn practical Arabic phrases for business meetings, travel, and religious contexts alongside formal grammar structures. The Canadian Quran Academy’s Arabic Classes in Calgary teach Arabic verb forms (past, present, imperative), grammatical gender, plural patterns, and possessive constructions. Instructors drill pronunciation of throat letters (ح Haa, ع Ayn, خ Kha) and emphatic consonants (ص Saad, ض Daad) until accuracy becomes automatic.
The Canadian Quran Academy’s curriculum builds Arabic proficiency through sequential lessons: alphabet foundations, grammar fundamentals, vocabulary expansion, then conversational fluency or Quranic text study.
Arabic Classes in Calgary begin with the 28 Arabic letters: individual sounds, written forms (isolated, initial, medial, final), and proper pronunciation points. Students practice connecting letters, recognizing vowel marks (Fatha, Kasra, Damma, Sukoon, Tanween), and reading basic words. Instructors demonstrate Makharij for sounds absent in English—throat letters, emphatic consonants, and the distinctive ر (Ra) pronunciation that English speakers initially struggle with.
Students study Arabic verb conjugations across tenses: past (Madi), present (Mudari), and imperative (Amr). Arabic Classes in Calgary cover grammatical gender (masculine/feminine), number (singular/dual/plural), definite/indefinite articles, and possessive constructions. Lessons include noun cases (Raf, Nasb, Jarr), attached pronouns, and basic sentence patterns (verb-subject-object versus noun-adjective agreements). Grammar becomes practical through sentence construction exercises, not abstract theory.
The Canadian Quran Academy’s Arabic Classes in Calgary teach functional vocabulary: greetings, introductions, family terms, workplace phrases, travel expressions, and daily communication. Students practice Arabic speaking through role-plays, dialogues, and instructor conversations. Lessons address common Calgary contexts: describing professions, discussing Calgary weather, navigating multicultural workplaces, and explaining Canadian cultural references in Arabic. Speaking confidence builds through consistent practice and immediate pronunciation correction.
Students learn vocabulary, grammar structures, and stylistic features specific to Quranic text. Arabic Classes in Calgary cover classical verb forms, archaic pronouns, oath particles, and rhetorical devices appearing in Quran. Lessons connect grammar to meaning—how verb tense changes interpretation, why word order creates emphasis, and what grammatical patterns signal. Students transition from transliteration dependence to reading Arabic Quran directly.
Outcomes
Students read Arabic text—news articles, social media, Quranic verses—directly without English letters. They decode unfamiliar words using vowel marks and recognize root patterns. Arabic Classes in Calgary eliminate transliteration crutches. Calgary professionals read Arabic business correspondence, restaurant menus, and street signs during Middle Eastern travel. This reading independence opens Arabic media, literature, and religious texts.
Students form Arabic sentences applying gender agreement, verb conjugations, and proper word order. They write short paragraphs, emails, and text messages in Arabic script. Arabic Classes in Calgary build this competency through writing exercises and instructor correction. Calgary learners communicate in Arabic on social media, correspond with Arabic-speaking colleagues, and compose personal messages without Google Translate.
Students engage in Arabic dialogues covering introductions, family descriptions, profession discussions, and daily activities. They respond to questions, ask for clarification, and maintain brief exchanges. Arabic Classes in Calgary develop this through structured conversation practice. Calgary professionals greet Arabic-speaking clients, navigate Middle Eastern business meetings, and engage Calgary's Arabic-speaking community members comfortably.
Students comprehend Arabic audio: news broadcasts, podcast segments, instructor speech, and native conversations at moderate pace. They identify main topics, extract key details, and follow narrative sequences. Arabic Classes in Calgary train Arabic listening through varied audio exposure. Calgary learners understand Arabic announcements during travel, follow Arabic media content, and participate in Arabic-speaking social settings.
Students analyze Quranic grammar: identify verb subjects, parse possessive constructions, recognize emphasis patterns, and understand how syntax affects meaning. They move beyond surface translation to grammatical comprehension. Arabic Classes in Calgary connect language mechanics to Quranic interpretation. Calgary Muslims deepen their religious understanding through direct Quranic Arabic engagement, not English translation dependence.

Testimonials
Calgary students completing The Canadian Quran Academy's Arabic classes achieve professional advancement, academic success, deeper Quranic understanding, and confident participation in Arabic-speaking communities across Alberta and beyond.
Alhumdulilah my son 7yr old loves his Quran classes. Sheikh Nour Eddin Mohmoud is very interactive and makes it very interesting for my son. MashaAllah my son has progressed in his Tajweed learning, applying and memorizing. After so many teachers finally found Sheikh Nour who understands and communicate with parents and listens as to what exactly one is looking for their child. I really recommend this institute and sheikh Nour . InshaAllah I want my other son to start with Sheikh Nour as well. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get their kids to learn online.
Alhamdulillah this is a great place to learn Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. I took these three classes and gained a lot. They teach through zoom in one on one sessions where you decide the time and day. I used whatsapp as the communication and the coordinators were really responsive. For Quran, we would read the arabic together and then learn the tafsir. After that I would memorize the surah or a portion for the next class. For Arabic, it was a focus on vocabulary and conjugations of verbs. For Islamic studies you went through a text together. The teachers are really nice and you can ask anything. I found it enjoyable learning about a different culture as I was raised in America. Give it a try!
Real transformations from students who mastered the Quran with our courses
I took a course at Shaykhi Academy, and my name is Hamza Osama from England. During my time there, I learned the Arabic alphabet and Tajweed rules. I have also successfully memorized approximately two Juz of the Quran. My teacher was the best, and I feel I benefited a lot from him. I would advise anyone who wants to learn the Arabic language, Tajweed rules, or the Quran to join Shaykhi Academy.
I’m Yahia Sarhan, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Canada. I’ve been a student at Shaykhi Academy since 2019, so about three or four years now. It’s been a great learning opportunity for me and I’ve learned a lot about Islamic studies, the Quran, and Arabic reading. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s trying to learn.
