The Canadian Quran Academy’s Islamic studies classes in Calgary cover Quranic Arabic grammar, Tafsir comprehension, Seerah, Fiqh fundamentals, and Islamic ethics — all taught online by qualified instructors. Lessons are structured around classical Islamic texts, not surface-level summaries. Calgary students get scheduled sessions that fit around school, work, and family without compromise.
Calgary’s Muslim community is growing, and the need for grounded Islamic knowledge has never been more practical. The Canadian Quran Academy’s Islamic studies classes in Calgary give students the Arabic reading tools and Islamic studies comprehension to engage directly with Quranic texts — not just translated summaries — building real religious literacy within Canada’s diverse, multilingual communities.
The Canadian Quran Academy’s Islamic studies classes in Calgary are not a general overview of religion. Each session covers specific subject matter: Quranic Arabic reading, classical Fiqh texts, Tafsir methodology, Hadith sciences, and Seerah — taught progressively, with each topic building directly on the one before it.
Lessons address the texts themselves. Students develop Islamic studies comprehension through direct engagement with Quranic passages — reading Arabic script, understanding sentence structure, and applying Tajweed-compliant recitation within context. The Canadian Quran Academy’s tutors don’t skip the difficult material; they slow down where students typically rush past it.
The Canadian Quran Academy’s curriculum moves through Islamic studies in a fixed sequence — foundational Arabic literacy first, then classical text engagement, then applied scholarship.
Most students arrive wanting to understand the Quran directly. The problem is that Tafsir comprehension requires Quranic Arabic grammar first. The Canadian Quran Academy’s Islamic studies classes in Calgary spend dedicated sessions on Arabic sentence structure — nominal sentences, verb patterns, and case endings — before any classical commentary is introduced.
Reading a Hadith and evaluating it are two different skills. The Canadian Quran Academy’s curriculum teaches Calgary students how chains of narration work, how scholars grade authenticity, and how Hadith texts connect to Fiqh rulings. This is rarely taught in weekend circles — and it changes how students relate to Islamic knowledge entirely.
Many Calgary students have learned Fiqh through translated summaries. The Canadian Quran Academy’s Islamic studies classes in Calgary introduce original Arabic source material — reading short classical Fiqh passages directly, with vocabulary support and structured Arabic reading practice built into every lesson.
The Seerah is not taught as biography only. The Canadian Quran Academy’s tutors tie Prophetic events directly to the Quranic passages revealed at that time, building Islamic studies comprehension by showing students when and why specific ayat were revealed — and what the Arabic linguistic context tells us about their meaning.
Outcomes
By the end of the Islamic studies classes in Calgary, students read short Quranic passages and classical Arabic texts without relying entirely on translation. The Canadian Quran Academy's tutors build this through repeated exposure, grammatical analysis, and Tajweed-compliant recitation practice embedded in every Islamic studies session.
Students engage with classical Tafsir — not just English commentary. The Canadian Quran Academy's Islamic studies classes in Calgary train students to identify linguistic reasons behind scholarly interpretations, connecting Quranic Arabic grammar directly to how and why scholars understood verses the way they did.
Adults who complete The Canadian Quran Academy's Islamic studies classes in Calgary can identify the structure of a Hadith chain, understand basic grading terminology, and apply this to how Fiqh positions are formed — a skill most Muslim adults in Canada have never been formally taught.
Instead of relying on second-hand summaries, students in The Canadian Quran Academy's Islamic studies classes in Calgary read structured excerpts from classical Fiqh texts with Arabic reading support. This builds authentic Islamic studies comprehension and replaces surface-level familiarity with actual textual grounding.
Students leave The Canadian Quran Academy's Islamic studies classes in Calgary understanding not just what happened in the Seerah, but which Quranic passages were revealed in response — and what the Arabic linguistic features of those passages reveal about their meaning and purpose.
The Canadian Quran Academy's tutors structure Islamic studies classes in Calgary so students build enough Quranic Arabic reading ability and Islamic studies comprehension to continue learning independently — through classical texts, reputable Islamic scholarship, and ongoing Quranic study — long after structured sessions conclude.

Testimonials
Montreal students completing The Canadian Quran Academy's Hifz program achieve full Quran memorization, lead Taraweeh prayers, and maintain lifelong review habits supporting their Islamic knowledge and community leadership.
Alhumdulilah my son 7yr old loves his Quran classes. Sheikh Nour Eddin Mohmoud is very interactive and makes it very interesting for my son. MashaAllah my son has progressed in his Tajweed learning, applying and memorizing. After so many teachers finally found Sheikh Nour who understands and communicate with parents and listens as to what exactly one is looking for their child. I really recommend this institute and sheikh Nour . InshaAllah I want my other son to start with Sheikh Nour as well. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get their kids to learn online.
Alhamdulillah this is a great place to learn Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. I took these three classes and gained a lot. They teach through zoom in one on one sessions where you decide the time and day. I used whatsapp as the communication and the coordinators were really responsive. For Quran, we would read the arabic together and then learn the tafsir. After that I would memorize the surah or a portion for the next class. For Arabic, it was a focus on vocabulary and conjugations of verbs. For Islamic studies you went through a text together. The teachers are really nice and you can ask anything. I found it enjoyable learning about a different culture as I was raised in America. Give it a try!
Real transformations from students who mastered the Quran with our courses
I took a course at Shaykhi Academy, and my name is Hamza Osama from England. During my time there, I learned the Arabic alphabet and Tajweed rules. I have also successfully memorized approximately two Juz of the Quran. My teacher was the best, and I feel I benefited a lot from him. I would advise anyone who wants to learn the Arabic language, Tajweed rules, or the Quran to join Shaykhi Academy.
I’m Yahia Sarhan, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Canada. I’ve been a student at Shaykhi Academy since 2019, so about three or four years now. It’s been a great learning opportunity for me and I’ve learned a lot about Islamic studies, the Quran, and Arabic reading. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s trying to learn.
