The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran Classes in Edmonton focus on Arabic alphabet mastery, letter joining rules, vowel mark identification (Fatha, Kasra, Damma, Sukoon, Tanween), and Makharij pronunciation points. Students progress through Noorani Qaida systematically, then advance to reading Quranic text with Tajweed accuracy. Lessons include Noon Sakinah rules, Meem Sakinah applications, Madd elongations, and Qalqalah execution.
Instructors correct pronunciation errors immediately, throat letters (ح Haa, ع Ayn), emphatic consonants (ص Saad, ض Daad), and sounds absent in English. The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran Classes in Edmonton prevent bad habits from forming during early learning stages. Students practice reading fluency through repetition, instructor feedback, and progressive difficulty increases that build confidence alongside technical accuracy.
The Canadian Quran Academy’s curriculum moves students from zero Arabic knowledge to independent Quran reading through structured lessons building on previous mastery.
Quran Classes in Edmonton begin with the 28 Arabic letters: individual sounds, written forms, and pronunciation points. Students practice each letter until recognition becomes automatic. Instructors demonstrate proper Makharij—where sounds originate in the throat, tongue, lips, or nasal passages. Lessons progress from isolated letters to positional variations (initial, medial, final forms) that appear throughout Quranic text.
Students work through Noorani Qaida methodically: voweled single letters, joined letter combinations, Tanween endings, Sukoon application, then complex word structures. The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran Classes in Edmonton don’t rush this foundation. Each lesson requires demonstrated fluency before advancing. Edmonton students read practice words repeatedly until pronunciation accuracy and reading speed develop naturally, preparing them for actual Quranic verses.
Students learn essential Tajweed systematically: Noon Sakinah and Tanween rules (Idgham, Iqlab, Ikhfa, Izhar), Meem Sakinah rules (Idgham Shafawi, Ikhfa Shafawi, Izhar Shafawi), Madd types (natural, connected, separated), and Qalqalah application. Quran Classes in Edmonton teach these through direct recitation practice, not abstract theory. Edmonton students hear correct pronunciation, repeat it, receive immediate instructor feedback, then practice until execution becomes natural.
The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran Classes in Edmonton focus on reading speed, accuracy, and confidence across varied Quranic passages. Students practice different Surahs, encountering diverse vocabulary and grammatical structures. Instructors assign daily reading portions for home practice, then review them during lessons. Edmonton students transition from slow, hesitant reading to smooth, confident recitation suitable for personal prayer and family gatherings.
Outcomes
Students progress from recognizing zero Arabic letters to reading complete Quranic pages without assistance. They decode unfamiliar words using vowel marks and apply learned Tajweed rules automatically. Quran Classes in Edmonton eliminate transliteration dependence. Edmonton students read Arabic Quran directly during daily prayers, Ramadan Taraweeh, and personal study sessions without instructor prompting or English letter crutches.
Students master throat letters ح (Haa), ع (Ayn), ق (Qaf), خ (Kha) and emphatic consonants ص (Saad), ض (Daad), ط (Taa), ظ (Zaa) that don't exist in English. They distinguish between similar phonemes English speakers confuse. Quran Classes in Edmonton drill these sounds early. Edmonton students develop proper articulation before incorrect muscle memory forms, unlike older learners who must later unlearn pronunciation errors.
Students execute Noon Sakinah rules, Meem Sakinah rules, Madd elongations, and Qalqalah naturally during recitation. They identify where rules apply and implement them without conscious effort. Quran Classes in Edmonton build this competency through repetition and instructor correction. Edmonton students recite with accuracy meeting Islamic scholarly standards, suitable for leading family prayers or participating in Taraweeh across Edmonton's mosques.
Students retain Surahs from Juz Amma—Al-Fatihah, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas, Al-Kawthar—with correct Tajweed and pronunciation. They recite from memory during prayers without errors. Quran Classes in Edmonton combine reading skill development with memorization techniques. Edmonton students use these Surahs in daily Salah, strengthening both their prayer quality and Quran retention abilities simultaneously.
Students establish routine Quran practice: 15-30 minutes daily reading or reviewing memorized portions. They view Quran engagement as personal worship, not academic obligation. Quran Classes in Edmonton make reading achievable, not overwhelming. Edmonton students experience progress quickly, which motivates continued practice beyond lesson times—reading independently during commutes, lunch breaks, or evening downtime.
Students recite Quran clearly in mosque gatherings, family events, and Islamic study circles without hesitation. They participate in Taraweeh prayers, Quran competitions, and community programs actively. Quran Classes in Edmonton prepare students for public recitation through regular instructor feedback and correction. This confidence strengthens their Islamic identity within Edmonton's diverse Muslim community spanning multiple cultural backgrounds.

Testimonials
Edmonton students completing The Canadian Quran Academy's Quran classes achieve independent reading, confident recitation, strong memorization skills, and active participation in Edmonton's Muslim community across mosques and Islamic centers.
Alhumdulilah my son 7yr old loves his Quran classes. Sheikh Nour Eddin Mohmoud is very interactive and makes it very interesting for my son. MashaAllah my son has progressed in his Tajweed learning, applying and memorizing. After so many teachers finally found Sheikh Nour who understands and communicate with parents and listens as to what exactly one is looking for their child. I really recommend this institute and sheikh Nour . InshaAllah I want my other son to start with Sheikh Nour as well. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get their kids to learn online.
Alhamdulillah this is a great place to learn Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. I took these three classes and gained a lot. They teach through zoom in one on one sessions where you decide the time and day. I used whatsapp as the communication and the coordinators were really responsive. For Quran, we would read the arabic together and then learn the tafsir. After that I would memorize the surah or a portion for the next class. For Arabic, it was a focus on vocabulary and conjugations of verbs. For Islamic studies you went through a text together. The teachers are really nice and you can ask anything. I found it enjoyable learning about a different culture as I was raised in America. Give it a try!
Real transformations from students who mastered the Quran with our courses
I took a course at Shaykhi Academy, and my name is Hamza Osama from England. During my time there, I learned the Arabic alphabet and Tajweed rules. I have also successfully memorized approximately two Juz of the Quran. My teacher was the best, and I feel I benefited a lot from him. I would advise anyone who wants to learn the Arabic language, Tajweed rules, or the Quran to join Shaykhi Academy.
I’m Yahia Sarhan, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Canada. I’ve been a student at Shaykhi Academy since 2019, so about three or four years now. It’s been a great learning opportunity for me and I’ve learned a lot about Islamic studies, the Quran, and Arabic reading. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s trying to learn.
