The Canadian Quran Academy’s Ottawa Arabic Classes build Arabic language competence through lessons that prioritize spoken Arabic accuracy, written Arabic clarity, and listening comprehension before introducing complex grammatical concepts. Students practice Arabic pronunciation using phonetic drills, vocabulary expansion through contextual exercises, and sentence construction that mirrors natural Arabic speech patterns rather than forced translations from English.
Lessons include Arabic verb conjugation for present and past tenses, noun-adjective agreement in gender and number, and conversational Arabic phrases applicable to professional and personal contexts. Instructors teach Arabic script recognition, proper handwriting techniques for connected letters, and reading comprehension strategies that strengthen retention of new Arabic vocabulary and grammatical structures learned during each session.
The Canadian Quran Academy designs each lesson to move students systematically through Arabic literacy milestones without skipping foundational steps that later cause confusion.
Students begin with individual Arabic letter shapes, pronunciation, and placement within words. Instructors demonstrate how letters connect differently at the beginning, middle, and end of Arabic words, then guide practice sessions where learners write full words and short phrases. Exercises emphasize muscle memory for proper Arabic handwriting flow and recognition speed when reading unfamiliar Arabic text.
The Canadian Quran Academy’s instructors teach everyday Arabic expressions, question-answer patterns, and polite formal phrases used in business and social settings. Students practice speaking Arabic through structured dialogues, role-play scenarios, and guided conversations that build confidence before attempting spontaneous speech. Pronunciation corrections focus on sounds absent in English, like ع and ح, ensuring clarity in real-world Arabic communication.
Lessons cover subject-verb order, feminine and masculine noun forms, and verb tenses without overwhelming students with abstract grammar charts. Instructors introduce Arabic grammatical concepts through example sentences students will actually use, then assign exercises that reinforce patterns through repetition. Written Arabic assignments strengthen understanding of grammatical rules while expanding active vocabulary students can deploy in conversations and written correspondence.
Students progress to reading simple Arabic stories, news excerpts, and dialogue transcripts that match their vocabulary level. Listening exercises use recorded native Arabic speakers at controlled speeds, followed by comprehension questions that test retention and understanding. The Canadian Quran Academy’s approach develops simultaneous Arabic reading and listening abilities, preparing learners to engage with authentic Arabic media, texts, and conversations beyond the classroom.

Testimonials
Graduates achieve academic excellence, career advancement, and personal growth through Arabic proficiency gained at The Canadian Quran Academy across Canada and internationally.
Alhumdulilah my son 7yr old loves his Quran classes. Sheikh Nour Eddin Mohmoud is very interactive and makes it very interesting for my son. MashaAllah my son has progressed in his Tajweed learning, applying and memorizing. After so many teachers finally found Sheikh Nour who understands and communicate with parents and listens as to what exactly one is looking for their child. I really recommend this institute and sheikh Nour . InshaAllah I want my other son to start with Sheikh Nour as well. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get their kids to learn online.
Alhamdulillah this is a great place to learn Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. I took these three classes and gained a lot. They teach through zoom in one on one sessions where you decide the time and day. I used whatsapp as the communication and the coordinators were really responsive. For Quran, we would read the arabic together and then learn the tafsir. After that I would memorize the surah or a portion for the next class. For Arabic, it was a focus on vocabulary and conjugations of verbs. For Islamic studies you went through a text together. The teachers are really nice and you can ask anything. I found it enjoyable learning about a different culture as I was raised in America. Give it a try!
Real transformations from students who mastered the Quran with our courses
I took a course at Shaykhi Academy, and my name is Hamza Osama from England. During my time there, I learned the Arabic alphabet and Tajweed rules. I have also successfully memorized approximately two Juz of the Quran. My teacher was the best, and I feel I benefited a lot from him. I would advise anyone who wants to learn the Arabic language, Tajweed rules, or the Quran to join Shaykhi Academy.
I’m Yahia Sarhan, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Canada. I’ve been a student at Shaykhi Academy since 2019, so about three or four years now. It’s been a great learning opportunity for me and I’ve learned a lot about Islamic studies, the Quran, and Arabic reading. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s trying to learn.
Functional Arabic opens professional doors, deepens Islamic study, and builds bridges within Canada’s capital diverse neighborhoods where authentic communication matters more than textbook exercises.
