The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran classes for females in Canada teach Arabic letter recognition through Noorani Qaida, progressing to Tajweed-compliant Quranic recitation and basic Tafsir comprehension with female tutors exclusively. Sisters learn Makharij articulation points, distinguishing ح (Ḥāʾ) from ه (Hāʾ), ع (ʿAyn) from أ (Hamzah), through repetition drills with female instructors who correct pronunciation errors immediately during live sessions in judgment-free environments.
Lessons include Quran memorization techniques for short Surahs, Arabic listening recognition to improve recitation fluency, and applied Tajweed during connected verse reading. The Canadian Quran Academy’s female instructors teach Ghunnah duration, Qalqalah application, and Madd extensions using examples from students’ current Quran reading level, not theoretical rules divorced from practical application during actual recitation that sisters perform daily.
The Canadian Quran Academy sequences lessons from Arabic letter mastery through independent Quran reading—no skipped foundations, no rushed pacing.
Female students start with isolated letter shapes, recognizing ب (Bāʾ), ت (Tāʾ), ث (Thāʾ) in different positions, then practice joining letters into simple words. The Canadian Quran Academy’s female tutors drill visual recognition before adding Harakat vowels, preventing the common mistake many sisters make: guessing words from context rather than reading Arabic script accurately letter by letter.
Most sisters initially pronounce ق (Qāf) like ك (Kāf) or collapse ص (Ṣād) into س (Sīn), not from carelessness, but because English has no equivalent throat or emphatic consonants. The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran classes for sisters in Canada isolate these difficult Arabic sounds, practicing them separately with female instructors before embedding them into Quranic verses where pronunciation precision affects recitation validity.
Female students don’t memorize Tajweed charts. They apply one rule at a time during actual Quran recitation—first Ghunnah with Noon Sakinah, then Qalqalah letters, then Madd types. The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran classes for sisters in Canada correct mistakes during recitation with female tutors before moving to the next rule, ensuring Canadian women build correct habits rather than unlearning incorrect patterns later.
Before reading Surah Al-Baqarah or Al-Kahf independently, female students spend weeks listening to qualified female reciters pronounce each verse correctly. The Canadian Quran Academy’s instructors identify which Arabic sounds sisters misperceive, distinguishing ض (Ḍād) from ظ (Ẓāʾ), or ط (Ṭāʾ) from ت (Tāʾ), and drill those differences separately with female tutors in safe learning environments.
Outcomes
Most women arrive relying on English transliteration in Arabic script. Students progress to reading Arabic text directly, identifying letters and Harakat vowels without phonetic crutches. The Canadian Quran Academy's Quran classes for sisters in Canada phase out transliteration gradually once female students demonstrate consistent Arabic letter recognition during timed reading drills with instructors.
Sisters identify and fix the specific pronunciation mistakes that change Quranic word meanings—swapping heavy letters for light equivalents, incorrect throat letter placement, or inconsistent vowel length. The Canadian Quran Academy's female tutors catch these errors during live recitation before they become embedded habits resistant to correction.
Female students graduate applying Ghunnah duration, Qalqalah emphasis, and proper Madd extensions automatically during full Surah recitation. The Canadian Quran Academy's Quran classes for sisters in Canada test Tajweed accuracy under normal reading conditions with female instructors, ensuring women maintain pronunciation precision without visual Mushaf references.
Most mothers struggle not with Quran reading difficulty, but with protecting practice time around childcare, meals, and household management. Female students develop realistic daily reading targets—ten minutes during breakfast, fifteen during children's naps that survive schedule disruptions. Female instructors teach recovery protocols for missed days without guilt spirals that derail the momentum sisters work hard to establish.
Students practice reciting under observation with female tutors who correct mistakes privately, building accuracy before public reading contexts. The Canadian Quran Academy's Quran classes for sisters in Canada address the specific confidence barriers women face when reciting in front of other sisters, family members, or during community events.
Sisters learn brief Tafsir explanations for Surahs from Juz Amma—historical context, thematic messages, and key Arabic vocabulary meanings from female instructors. The Academy provides enough Islamic knowledge to connect Quranic Arabic text with comprehension, preparing women for deeper Tafsir study or independent Quran reflection during personal reading and worship.

Alhumdulilah my son 7yr old loves his Quran classes. Sheikh Nour Eddin Mohmoud is very interactive and makes it very interesting for my son. MashaAllah my son has progressed in his Tajweed learning, applying and memorizing. After so many teachers finally found Sheikh Nour who understands and communicate with parents and listens as to what exactly one is looking for their child. I really recommend this institute and sheikh Nour . InshaAllah I want my other son to start with Sheikh Nour as well. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get their kids to learn online.
Alhamdulillah this is a great place to learn Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. I took these three classes and gained a lot. They teach through zoom in one on one sessions where you decide the time and day. I used whatsapp as the communication and the coordinators were really responsive. For Quran, we would read the arabic together and then learn the tafsir. After that I would memorize the surah or a portion for the next class. For Arabic, it was a focus on vocabulary and conjugations of verbs. For Islamic studies you went through a text together. The teachers are really nice and you can ask anything. I found it enjoyable learning about a different culture as I was raised in America. Give it a try!
Real transformations from students who mastered the Quran with our courses
I took a course at Shaykhi Academy, and my name is Hamza Osama from England. During my time there, I learned the Arabic alphabet and Tajweed rules. I have also successfully memorized approximately two Juz of the Quran. My teacher was the best, and I feel I benefited a lot from him. I would advise anyone who wants to learn the Arabic language, Tajweed rules, or the Quran to join Shaykhi Academy.
I’m Yahia Sarhan, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Canada. I’ve been a student at Shaykhi Academy since 2019, so about three or four years now. It’s been a great learning opportunity for me and I’ve learned a lot about Islamic studies, the Quran, and Arabic reading. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s trying to learn.
