The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran Recitation Classes in Canada focus on Makharij pronunciation points, Tajweed rule application, and accurate Quranic recitation. Students learn where each Arabic sound originates—throat letters (ح Haa, ع Ayn, ق Qaf), tongue letters, lip letters, and nasal letters. Lessons cover Noon Sakinah and Tanween rules (Idgham, Iqlab, Ikhfa, Izhar), Meem Sakinah rules, Madd types, and Qalqalah bounce.
Instructors correct pronunciation errors immediately during recitation practice. The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran Recitation Classes in Canada address common mistakes: throat letter confusion, emphatic consonant weakening, and improper Madd lengths. Students practice Quranic verses repeatedly with instructor feedback until Tajweed application becomes automatic. Canadian learners recite with accuracy meeting Islamic scholarly standards suitable for leading prayers and teaching others.
The Canadian Quran Academy’s curriculum builds Quranic recitation proficiency through sequential Tajweed lessons: Makharij foundations, rule application, then fluent recitation with automatic Tajweed compliance.
Quran Recitation Classes in Canada begin with the 17 Makharij points: throat origin (ح Haa, ع Ayn, ق Qaf, خ Kha, غ Ghayn), tongue positions, lip sounds, and nasal passages. Students practice each sound until pronunciation becomes accurate. Instructors demonstrate where sounds originate physically and correct errors immediately. Canadian students distinguish between similar sounds English speakers confuse—particularly throat letters and emphatic consonants absent in English or French.
Students learn the four Noon Sakinah and Tanween rules systematically: Idgham (merging), Iqlab (conversion), Ikhfa (concealment), and Izhar (clear pronunciation). Quran Recitation Classes in Canada teach when each rule applies based on following letters. Students identify these situations in Quranic verses and execute rules automatically during recitation. Instructors correct timing, nasalization levels, and execution until application matches scholarly standards taught across generations.
The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran Recitation Classes in Canada cover three Meem Sakinah rules: Idgham Shafawi, Ikhfa Shafawi, and Izhar Shafawi. Students then learn Madd (elongation) types: natural Madd (2 counts), connected Madd (4-5 counts), and separated Madd. Lessons teach exact vowel elongation lengths and when each applies. Canadian students practice verses containing multiple Madd types until length accuracy becomes consistent and natural.
Students learn Qalqalah (bounce) for five letters: ق (Qaf), ط (Taa), ب (Baa), ج (Jeem), د (Daal) when they carry Sukoon. Quran Recitation Classes in Canada teach minor versus major Qalqalah execution. Advanced lessons cover Idgham types, Iqlab mechanics, Ghunnah duration, and Waqf (stopping) rules. Canadian students recite complete Quranic passages applying all Tajweed rules simultaneously without conscious effort.
Outcomes
Students master throat letters (ح Haa, ع Ayn), emphatic consonants (ص Saad, ض Daad, ط Taa, ظ Zaa), and sounds absent in English or French. They articulate each letter from its correct Makharij point consistently. Quran Recitation Classes in Canada drill these until pronunciation matches scholarly standards. Canadian students recite with clarity indistinguishable from native Arabic speakers who've studied Tajweed formally.
Students identify and execute Idgham, Iqlab, Ikhfa, and Izhar instantly while reciting. They don't pause to analyze—application happens automatically. Quran Recitation Classes in Canada build this through repetition until rules become muscle memory. Canadian students recite Quranic verses at natural speed with perfect Noon Sakinah execution suitable for leading Taraweeh prayers across Canada's mosques.
Students hold vowel elongations for exact counts: 2 for natural Madd, 4-5 for connected Madd, maintaining consistency throughout recitation. They don't shorten or over-extend. Quran Recitation Classes in Canada train precise timing through instructor feedback and metronome practice. Canadian students' recitation maintains proper rhythm and flow, meeting standards for formal Quranic recitation in Islamic centers and competitions.
Students execute Qalqalah (bounce) on ق ط ب ج د letters carrying Sukoon without adding extra vowels or under-executing. They distinguish minor versus major Qalqalah automatically. Quran Recitation Classes in Canada develop this through focused drill. Canadian students recite with natural Qalqalah that enhances meaning and beauty without sounding forced or artificial.
Students identify mistakes in their own recitation before instructors point them out. They catch Makharij errors, missed Ghunnah, incorrect Madd lengths, and rule violations. Canadian students practice independently at home, maintaining Tajweed accuracy without constant supervision, accelerating their advancement significantly.
Students confidently lead Taraweeh, Jumu'ah, and daily prayers reciting with accuracy that allows congregation members to follow easily. They handle public recitation without anxiety. Quran Recitation Classes in Canada prepare students for community leadership through regular practice and instructor assessment. Canadian students strengthen their role in local mosques and community.

Alhumdulilah my son 7yr old loves his Quran classes. Sheikh Nour Eddin Mohmoud is very interactive and makes it very interesting for my son. MashaAllah my son has progressed in his Tajweed learning, applying and memorizing. After so many teachers finally found Sheikh Nour who understands and communicate with parents and listens as to what exactly one is looking for their child. I really recommend this institute and sheikh Nour . InshaAllah I want my other son to start with Sheikh Nour as well. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get their kids to learn online.
Alhamdulillah this is a great place to learn Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. I took these three classes and gained a lot. They teach through zoom in one on one sessions where you decide the time and day. I used whatsapp as the communication and the coordinators were really responsive. For Quran, we would read the arabic together and then learn the tafsir. After that I would memorize the surah or a portion for the next class. For Arabic, it was a focus on vocabulary and conjugations of verbs. For Islamic studies you went through a text together. The teachers are really nice and you can ask anything. I found it enjoyable learning about a different culture as I was raised in America. Give it a try!
Real transformations from students who mastered the Quran with our courses
I took a course at Shaykhi Academy, and my name is Hamza Osama from England. During my time there, I learned the Arabic alphabet and Tajweed rules. I have also successfully memorized approximately two Juz of the Quran. My teacher was the best, and I feel I benefited a lot from him. I would advise anyone who wants to learn the Arabic language, Tajweed rules, or the Quran to join Shaykhi Academy.
I’m Yahia Sarhan, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Canada. I’ve been a student at Shaykhi Academy since 2019, so about three or four years now. It’s been a great learning opportunity for me and I’ve learned a lot about Islamic studies, the Quran, and Arabic reading. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s trying to learn.
