The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran classes for kids in Brampton focus on three core areas: accurate Quran reading through Noorani Qaida, Tajweed application during recitation, and age-appropriate Hifz techniques. Young learners begin with Arabic letter recognition (Makharij), progress to vowel patterns (Harakat), then move into short Surah memorization with proper Tajweed rules applied from day one.
Lessons address the specific challenges English-speaking children face: confusing similar Arabic sounds like ص and س, rushing through Sukoon, or skipping Ghunnah entirely. The Canadian Quran Academy’s tutors slow down these moments, repeat them correctly, and build the habit before moving forward. This prevents the need to unlearn errors later.
The Canadian Quran Academy organizes Quran classes for kids in Brampton into progressive stages, starting with foundational Arabic literacy and advancing through recitation accuracy and memorization readiness.
Kids begin with Noorani Qaida, mastering each Arabic letter’s shape, sound, and Makhraj before combining them. The Canadian Quran Academy’s tutors isolate difficult sounds, ح versus ه, ع versus ء, and drill them separately. Children repeat aloud until the tutor confirms accuracy. This stage typically spans 12 to 16 weeks depending on weekly session frequency.
Once Arabic letter proficiency is established, children learn Tajweed rules during actual Quran recitation, not as abstract theory. Lessons cover Noon Sakinah rules, Qalqalah application, Madd types, and Ghunnah duration. The Canadian Quran Academy’s approach ties each rule to specific Ayahs, so kids hear the rule in context. Mistakes are corrected immediately during live recitation, not after the fact.
Memorization begins with short Surahs from Juz Amma after Tajweed basics are solid. The Canadian Quran Academy’s tutors use chunked repetition: three Ayahs memorized in one session, reviewed the next session, then combined with new verses. Kids recite from memory without looking, then the tutor points out any skipped words or incorrect Tajweed. This builds retention alongside accuracy.
Advanced students begin learning basic Quranic Arabic grammar: verb conjugations, pronouns, and common sentence structures found in the Quran. The Canadian Quran Academy’s curriculum introduces these through frequently recited Ayahs, not grammar drills. Kids learn to identify subject, verb, and object in simple Quranic sentences. This stage prepares them for eventual Tafsir understanding as they mature academically.
Outcomes
After completing Noorani Qaida and Tajweed training, children read new Quranic passages without needing constant correction. They recognize vowel patterns instantly, apply Sukoon correctly, and distinguish between similar letters. The Canadian Quran Academy's tutors test this by assigning unfamiliar Surahs—students who hesitate less than three times per page have achieved functional Quran reading independence.
Students stop thinking about Tajweed rules consciously and apply them reflexively. When they see Noon Sakinah followed by ي, they apply Idgham without pausing. When Qalqalah letters appear, the bounce happens naturally. The Canadian Quran Academy's method builds this through repetition until the correct recitation becomes the default response, not something recalled from a rule chart.
Children retain memorized Surahs beyond the initial memorization period. A student who memorizes Surah Al-Fatiha in week four still recites it flawlessly in week twelve without review. The Canadian Quran Academy's spaced repetition approach prevents forgetting. Tutors schedule review sessions every third lesson, catching retention issues before they become gaps requiring re-memorization.
Advanced students hear their own errors and fix them mid-recitation. If they drop Ghunnah or skip Madd, they stop, repeat the Ayah correctly, and continue. The Canadian Quran Academy's tutors train this self-correction by intentionally staying silent during minor mistakes. Kids learn to monitor their own recitation quality instead of depending entirely on external correction.
Students begin recognizing common Quranic Arabic words without translation. They know "Rabb" means Lord, "Raheem" means merciful, and "Samad" means eternal. The Canadian Quran Academy's lessons highlight these words repeatedly across different Surahs. This vocabulary foundation prepares children for deeper Tafsir study when they're older and intellectually ready for complex interpretations.
Children practice Quran recitation independently between sessions without needing parental prompts. They review assigned Ayahs daily, check their own Tajweed, and come to the next lesson prepared. The Canadian Quran Academy's tutors assign realistic practice portions—five minutes daily, not thirty—so kids build the habit without burnout. Consistency matters more than duration at this age.

The Canadian Quran Academy's graduates demonstrate Quran reading proficiency, Tajweed accuracy, and Hifz retention across academic, personal, and community contexts throughout Canada and internationally.
Alhumdulilah my son 7yr old loves his Quran classes. Sheikh Nour Eddin Mohmoud is very interactive and makes it very interesting for my son. MashaAllah my son has progressed in his Tajweed learning, applying and memorizing. After so many teachers finally found Sheikh Nour who understands and communicate with parents and listens as to what exactly one is looking for their child. I really recommend this institute and sheikh Nour . InshaAllah I want my other son to start with Sheikh Nour as well. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get their kids to learn online.
Alhamdulillah this is a great place to learn Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. I took these three classes and gained a lot. They teach through zoom in one on one sessions where you decide the time and day. I used whatsapp as the communication and the coordinators were really responsive. For Quran, we would read the arabic together and then learn the tafsir. After that I would memorize the surah or a portion for the next class. For Arabic, it was a focus on vocabulary and conjugations of verbs. For Islamic studies you went through a text together. The teachers are really nice and you can ask anything. I found it enjoyable learning about a different culture as I was raised in America. Give it a try!
Real transformations from students who mastered the Quran with our courses
I took a course at Shaykhi Academy, and my name is Hamza Osama from England. During my time there, I learned the Arabic alphabet and Tajweed rules. I have also successfully memorized approximately two Juz of the Quran. My teacher was the best, and I feel I benefited a lot from him. I would advise anyone who wants to learn the Arabic language, Tajweed rules, or the Quran to join Shaykhi Academy.
I’m Yahia Sarhan, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Canada. I’ve been a student at Shaykhi Academy since 2019, so about three or four years now. It’s been a great learning opportunity for me and I’ve learned a lot about Islamic studies, the Quran, and Arabic reading. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s trying to learn.
