The Canadian Quran Academy’s Quran classes for kids in Scarborough teach Arabic alphabet mastery, Tajweed rule application, Noorani Qaida completion, and verse-by-verse recitation practice. Lessons cover makharij accuracy, harakat recognition, tanween distinction, and short Surah memorization. Kids practice Quranic Arabic sounds daily.
Young students learn sukoon rules, shadda application, madd elongation, and qalqalah execution. Lessons include Fatiha proficiency, last ten Surahs memorization, Wudu dua recitation, and Salah essentials. Children develop Quran reading independence while understanding basic Islamic knowledge through age-appropriate instruction.
The Canadian Quran Academy builds Quranic proficiency through sequential lessons that address pronunciation first, rules second, and fluency last—the order most children actually learn.
Kids distinguish ح from ه and ع from أ through listening drills before writing practice. Most children confuse throat letters initially because English offers no comparison. The Canadian Quran Academy’s tutors isolate each makharij point, let kids feel the sound placement, then name it. Letter shapes follow sound mastery, not the reverse.
Children move through harakat, tanween, sukoon, and shadda in fixed order. The Canadian Quran Academy’s curriculum doesn’t skip sukoon—many kids rush past it, then stumble on actual Quran text. Lessons enforce letter-by-letter accuracy before speed. Young learners practice connecting sounds into words, words into phrases, using Qaida as the training ground.
Scarborough young students learn qalqalah, madd, ghunna, and noon saakin rules after they can read fluently. The Canadian Quran Academy introduces Tajweed once kids stop sounding out every letter. Rules make sense only when students already produce the sound instinctively. Proper Quranic recitation develops through correction, repetition, and guided listening.not memorizing definitions.
Children memorize Fatiha, last ten Surahs, Ayat-ul-Kursi, and essential daily supplications. The Canadian Quran Academy’s approach pairs memorization with meaning—kids understand what they recite. Hifz techniques start here: repetition patterns, audio reinforcement, and parent involvement. Young students gain confidence through small, completed achievements before attempting longer passages.
Outcomes
Young learners read Quranic text without adult help after completing Noorani Qaida and applying Tajweed basics. The Canadian Quran Academy's tutors measure progress by fluency, not speed. Children recognize word patterns, apply vowel rules automatically, and self-correct pronunciation errors. Independence comes from hundreds of repetitions—not shortcuts.
Children produce throat letters, nasal sounds, and emphatic consonants with precision. Most kids initially substitute English sounds—ق becomes "k," ط becomes "t." The Canadian Quran Academy's instructors correct these substitutions early. Proper makharij prevents lifelong mispronunciation. Kids learn the difference between ض and ظ through targeted drills, not vague explanations.
Kids commit Fatiha, last ten Surahs, and Salah supplications to memory through structured Hifz techniques. The Canadian Quran Academy's curriculum emphasizes retention over volume. Children recite memorized portions during prayers, reinforcing what they've learned. Parents notice their kids leading family Salah—a confidence boost that sustains motivation through harder lessons.
Scarborough students apply qalqalah, ghunna, and madd rules correctly during live recitation. The Canadian Quran Academy doesn't teach Tajweed theory to young children—they learn by doing. Instructors model correct recitation, kids imitate, then receive immediate correction. Muscle memory forms before conceptual understanding. Rules get named after the sound already exists.
Children learn Surah meanings, Prophet stories, and basic Tafsir during Quran classes. The Canadian Quran Academy connects verses to real situations kids encounter—honesty, kindness, patience. Islamic knowledge becomes practical, not abstract. Kids understand why they memorize, not just how. Comprehension deepens their relationship with the Quran beyond mechanical recitation.
Young learners establish daily review routines, attend scheduled lessons reliably, and track their own progress. The Canadian Quran Academy's structure teaches discipline alongside Quranic proficiency. Children arrive prepared, complete assignments, and request feedback. Parents see behavior changes at home—kids who resist homework suddenly practice Quran voluntarily. Consistency becomes the achievement.

Testimonials
The Canadian Quran Academy's graduates demonstrate measurable Quranic proficiency, complete Hifz programs, and apply Arabic skills in academic, community, and personal Islamic practice.
Alhumdulilah my son 7yr old loves his Quran classes. Sheikh Nour Eddin Mohmoud is very interactive and makes it very interesting for my son. MashaAllah my son has progressed in his Tajweed learning, applying and memorizing. After so many teachers finally found Sheikh Nour who understands and communicate with parents and listens as to what exactly one is looking for their child. I really recommend this institute and sheikh Nour . InshaAllah I want my other son to start with Sheikh Nour as well. Hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get their kids to learn online.
Alhamdulillah this is a great place to learn Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. I took these three classes and gained a lot. They teach through zoom in one on one sessions where you decide the time and day. I used whatsapp as the communication and the coordinators were really responsive. For Quran, we would read the arabic together and then learn the tafsir. After that I would memorize the surah or a portion for the next class. For Arabic, it was a focus on vocabulary and conjugations of verbs. For Islamic studies you went through a text together. The teachers are really nice and you can ask anything. I found it enjoyable learning about a different culture as I was raised in America. Give it a try!
Real transformations from students who mastered the Quran with our courses
I took a course at Shaykhi Academy, and my name is Hamza Osama from England. During my time there, I learned the Arabic alphabet and Tajweed rules. I have also successfully memorized approximately two Juz of the Quran. My teacher was the best, and I feel I benefited a lot from him. I would advise anyone who wants to learn the Arabic language, Tajweed rules, or the Quran to join Shaykhi Academy.
I’m Yahia Sarhan, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Canada. I’ve been a student at Shaykhi Academy since 2019, so about three or four years now. It’s been a great learning opportunity for me and I’ve learned a lot about Islamic studies, the Quran, and Arabic reading. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s trying to learn.
Scarborough kids deserve structured Islamic learning that respects their pace, builds real skills, and strengthens lifelong connection to the Quran.
